Preventative Dentistry
The Canadian Dental Association recommends that you have your teeth cleaned at least once a year to prevent decay and gum disease. Children should come at least every six months. Brushing and flossing go hand in hand. Flossing at least once a day will help prevent cavities from forming in between the teeth and help your gums stay nice and healthy. But brushing can’t remove tartar, the hard substance that forms on your teeth at the gum line. Tartar can only be removed by a dental hygienist using special tools.

Cleaning
Professional cleaning removes tartar and dental plaque from your teeth, which keeps them safe from decay-causing bacteria. Our hygienist will clean and polish your teeth and may provide fluoride treatment to help protect your teeth against cavities.
Dental examination
As part of your preventative dentistry appointment we’ll examine your mouth. This lets us check for decay or gum disease.
Oral cancer screening
Oral cancer can be fatal if it isn’t detected and treated quickly. Early detection is key, so we’ll during your regular dental examinations we’ll also perform an oral cancer screening.
